Welcome to the first segment of OST Tuesday!

As you can probably guess from the title, this series will be all about my favorite OST songs.

My avid love for OSTs began back in 2009 with Shining Inheritance and its' stellar soundtrack.

For OST Tuesday's inaugural segment, I'll be talking about EXO Chen's 'Best Luck'.

Out of all the members of EXO, two are my favorites; Kai for his dancing and his unfairly perfect smile, and Chen for his vocals. And the only thing better than Chen's vocals on EXO songs is Chen's solo efforts, of which he has quite a few. One of my favorite being 'Best Luck'.

Released on July 28th, 2014 as part of the soundtrack for the SBS drama 'It's Okay, This Is Love', 'Best Luck' is 3 minutes and 40 seconds of pure Chen goodness and showcases why Chen is EXO's most skilled vocalist. Capable of hitting the highest of notes as well as having an adept lower register. In addition, he's able to perform with far less strain than a lot of other idol singers and hits his notes seamlessly. He is constantly improving and for us the listeners that means that his songs just get more and more euphonious.

'Best Luck' received high praise upon release and nabbed the award for Best OST by a Male Vocalist at the 16th Seoul International Youth Film Festival.

Chen has recently featured on Dynamic Duo's hit song 'Nosedive' which has won several awards from this year's MAMA and Melon Music Awards, however, I would love to see more from him. Chen has been a member of SM Entertainments sorely underutilized SM the Ballad since 2014 (who have not released music since then), and in my opinion is more than deserving of a solo album. Perhaps someday soon, SM Entertainment will grant that wish.

In the meantime, check out one of Chen's best songs in 'Best Luck', and see you next Tuesday!
