The university swept up in allegations of preferential treatment for Highlight's Yong Junhyung, Yoon Doojoon, and Lee Gikwang and former BEAST member Jang Hyunseung has released an official statement.
On August 13, a source from Dongshin University commented, “Of the BEAST members, two applied through rolling admission, and two applied through regular admission. It was before BEAST debuted. The 2nd rolling recruitment was [until] October 14, 2009, and BEAST's debut was October 16, 2009.”
The statement continues, “They applied for the university and were accepted before their debut, and the dean recommended them as special scholarship students after making the judgment, ‘They have lots of potential for improvement.' Of course we cannot check if they attended all their classes, but even after growing into world stars, they participated in classes and received equal evaluation through exams.”
It was reported through SBS's “8 O'Clock News” on August 12 that Yong Junhyung, Yoon Doojoon, Lee Gikwang, and Jang Hyunseung received full scholarships for their four years at Dongshin University but did not attend classes. Highlight's current agency Around Us Entertainment released a statement to clarify the report.

This is actually a non-issue. Someone's just obviously trying to do them dirty. Most of the koreans are even questioning why this became an issue. SBS is really incompetent for coming out with a false and malicious report towards highlight.
