According to Community Chest of Korea on December 24, AOA's Seolhyun recently donated 100 million won (approximately $88,670) to help support a childcare center and low-income teenagers. With this, she has become the 1991st member of the organization's Honor Society, a status awarded to donators who have contributed a high sum of money.
Seolhyun is the sixth singer to join the Honor Society, following Hyun Sook in 2013, Girls' Generation's YoonA, Insooni, and Suzy in 2015, and Ha Chun Hwa in 2016.
On November 29, Seolhyun donated 50 million won (approximately $44,330) to Community Chest of Korea to help teenagers from low-income households. Not long after, she donated an additional 50 million won to help fund a childcare center.
Seolhyun stated, “Since I learned of the difficult living environments young children live through, it has always stayed in the back of my mind. I've only been able to come so far because I've received help from so many people, and I'm happy to finally begin repaying that love by giving back.”
