Taemin of group SHINee will embark on his first arena tour in Japan this summer.
SM Entertainment, his agency, said on March 29th that Taemin will kick off the tour in Hokkaido on June 8th, followed by Tokyo, Osaka, Shizuoka, Hiroshima, Fukuoka and totaling six cities and 14 concerts.
This is Taemin's second solo tour after his 1st Japanese Tour "Sirius," which he did last year.
The status of Korean singers operating in Japan is estimated by the size of concert halls such as Dome stadiums and arenas. Singers holding an arena tour, which accommodates more than 10,000 people, are considered top-notch.
Taemin topped the Oricon daily album chart with his first full-length album "Taemin" (TAEMIN) in November last year, and ranked second on the Oricon weekly comprehensive music DVD & Blu-ray chart with concert live DVDs and Blu-ray released on July 13.
As SHINee's eldest member Onew joined the military last year, Key this month, and Minho in April, Taemin is expected to focus on his solo career for the time being.
SM said, "Taemin will show great performances at the arena concert halls this year. We expect to get another huge audience response."
