I.O.I was initially scheduled to reunite for their highly-anticipated comeback as a nine-member group in October, with all of the members returning except for Jeon Somi and Yoo Yeonjung.
However, due to a decision to change the group's title track for their upcoming comeback, the reunion was pushed back to December.
Following Fantagio's announcement on October 16th that Choi Yoojung would be taking a temporary hiatus due to health concerns, a representative of I.O.I responded to questions about whether the group would be able to return in December as scheduled.
“After postponing [I.O.I's] October comeback, we did not come to any final decisions about their future schedule,” stated the representative.
“Although it was said that they'd be making a December comeback, it was never officially decided that they'd be coming back in December. We are currently in the midst of further internal discussions about whether they will come back within the year or whether they will prepare with the goal of a comeback next year.”
Stay tuned for further updates.

They should just wait for somi and yoojung. An IOI reunion isn't really a reunion with one member missing.

They should have never broken up to begin with, the whole was worth much more than scraping the group out for parts if only those companies could have come to an agreement on revenue sharing.
