BLACKPINK started recording new songs with the goal of making a comeback in early 2020. Attention is focusing on whether they will be the first group of YG Entertainment to open the new year's comebacks.
According to a Newsen news report on November 29th, BLACKPINK is working on recording a new song in secret with the aim of making a comeback in early next year.
“No exact date has been set yet, but we are aiming for a comeback early next year,” said an official at YG Entertainment, adding that BLACKPINK members are currently recording several new songs for the new album.
BLACKPINK made their comeback in April with “KILL THIS LOVE,” breaking their own records made on the Billboard 200 and UK charts, establishing themselves as a world class girl group. In particular, they ranked 41st on Billboard's Hot 100 and 24th on Billboard's 200, achieving the highest ever record among K-Pop girl group. Expectations are mounting over what new records the new album will achieve with its release in early next year.
BLACKPINK debuted on August 8, 2016 with double title tracks “Whistle” and “BOOMBAYAH,” instantly resonating with fans with their charismatic charms and ability to dominate the stage. Since then, all the following songs they released including “Playing With Fire,” “Stay,” “As If It's Your Last,” “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” and “KILL THIS LOVE” have become big hits that drew huge attention from fans all over the world.
On November 11th, BLACKPINK's “DDU-DU DDU-DU” music video garnered 1 billion views on YouTube, becoming the first K-Pop group to achieve this feat. They also have three music videos with more than 700 million views. They have earned many views with choreography, music, broadcasting, and other contents.
BLACKPINK embarked on full-fledged US activities, including this year's tour of North America, appearing at Coachella and on various ABC and CBS entertainment programs.
BLACKPINK won the “Best Music Video of 2019” category, the “Favorite Group of 2019” and the “Concert Tour of the Year” categories at the 2019 People's Choice Awards.
BLACNPINK currently has plans to begin their Japan Dome Tour in three cities beginning on December 4th in Tokyo and ending on February 22nd at the Fukuoka Yahuoku Dome.

I'll only believe YG once there's already a music video teaser. The amount of false hopes they caused is already enough.

YG needs to stop this luxurious facade and just promote them regularly. Blackpink is a south korean girl group and not some online influencers.
