Kang Daniel Successfully Concludes First Solo Concert

The winner of season 2 of Mnet's "Produce 101", the center of project group "Wanna One" , which has a short but significant history, and the CEO of Konnect Entertainment.

Kang Daniel's first solo concert "2022 Kang Daniel Concert First Parade in Seoul" held at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul on the afternoon of the 14th was an extension of Kang Daniel's hard work and honesty towards DANITY.

A total of 8,000 fans on the previous day and that day were helplessly subjected to Kang Daniel's singing, dancing and passion.

Kang Daniel, who held his first solo concert three years after his solo debut in July 2019, introduced it saying, "It is a place where I can show you the albums and performances that I have released."

The first song "Flash" was a song from the mini album "MAGENTA" released in 2020. It was the only song that fans were disappointed because there was no related content. Kang Daniel talked about the song's first performance at the concert, saying, "I was drawing a big picture and saving it."

Since then, "Parade" has been full of cheerfulness as the theme song for the concert. The exciting and colorful video of the song turned the concert hall into an exciting parade ground. Kang Daniel broke through the difficult life with a toast with DANITY until the end of the performance. Now, the parade leads to a world tour.

On that day, Kang Daniel answered reporters' questions about the concert.

- It's your first concert. What does it mean? How do you feel after finishing your first performance well the day before?

"Actually, I couldn't perform well compared to the number of albums I released and the length of my promotions. It's so touching that I can finally show it to my fans. I thought about what it would have been like if the setlist was longer after the first day. I had to do a concert by myself. I felt pressured until right before the concert, but now that it's over, I'm sad. I thought about what it would have been like to show more diverse performances."

- You're planning more concerts, right?

"I'm planning a world tour. There are a lot of places that are waiting. We will start in Asia. When you do it in other countries' cities, the set list can be changed fluidly."

- The Japanese music festival "Summer Sonic" is scheduled to be held in Tokyo on the 21st, and will be in full swing in the second half of the year, so what are your plans?

"I can't believe I'm on 'Summer Sonic' yet. My favorite singers will be there. I can't believe that I'm invited to a big festival and can perform. I think I can show you a new side of us in a different genre in Japan. I think J-Rock, a rock element that I've heard a lot since I was young, will be included. I like the guitar sound. Also, when it comes to Japan, I personally think that there are a lot of funky music and each artist's color is firm, so I want to show you my color in that area."

-It's not easy to do activities since you started as a solo artist after a group activity, but you're doing well.

"I'm wondering if I'm doing well. Rather than being satisfied with the individual, there are many things you have to look ahead and live. Above all, I want to release good music without regrets. I told you at the press conference for "The Story". Saying that a singer wants to release a good song is contradictory (because it's so obvious) like saying that an athlete wants to be good at sports, but I still want to be a singer who releases a lot of good songs. After I became a soloist, I realized that it's important not to forget how grateful I am for those who fill the stage with me. Dancers, hair staff, makeup staff, managers. And I think we're moving forward with everyone in the company. It's a new dance program that will air for the first time on the 23rd, and Kang Daniel will be the MC, and the dancer world is on alert with "Smanpa" (Street Man Fighter) The dancers will be on the show. I heard that it's the same for other seniors' concerts. Thank you so much to the dancers who helped me in this situation."

- Were there any difficulties during the concert? A lot of international fans came. How do you feel?

"It was physically harder than I thought. So I found out that pace control is important. Overseas fans, thank you for coming even though it must have been a difficult time. We can hold concerts in overseas fans' hometowns, so I hope you don't feel sad and just take your excitement away."

- After the first concert, is there a part that can be defined as "what's my music?"

"Musically, I feel like I'm telling you what my identity as a lyricist is a simple music message that has no decoration. It's my musical choice to approach me first by confessing my difficulties. What I feel when I write lyrics is amazing. It could be my own personal story or personal experience, but it's cool when you sympathize or understand when you express it. Let's say you gain energy from the honesty you tell first. I want to feel this feeling a bit more, organize it, and tell you more later."
