ITZY's 5th Mini Album "Checkmate" Has Surpassed 1 Million Copies in Album Sales

Girl group ITZY has become a million-selling artist with their fifth mini album "CHECKMATE".

ITZY's fifth mini-album "CHECKMATE" released on the 15th of last month exceeded 1 million cumulative shipments of the Circle Chart (formerly Gaon Chart) as of the afternoon of August 31. As a result, they succeeded in becoming million sellers and showed off their strong global momentum.

Earlier, "CHECKMATE" surpassed 726,665 pre-orders and recorded 472,394 initial albums (record sales for a week based on release date) based on the album aggregation site Hanteo Chart, breaking its own best record. In addition, the mini-album "CHECKMATE" ranked eighth on the U.S. Billboard's main chart "Billboard 200," showing superior worldwide growth. ITZY entered the chart at 148th place with its mini-album "GUESS WHO" in April last year, and in September of the same year, its first full-length album "CRAZY IN LOVE" soared to 11th place, drawing attention from global K-pop fans.

The title track of the fifth mini album "SNEAKERS" has been popular for a long time as it has settled in the top 10 on the music site Melon and Genie Weekly Chart (2022.08.22 - 2022.08.28), respectively, even after the end of their promotions.

ITZY completed the Seoul performance of the world tour "ITZY THE 1ST WORLD TOUR" held at SK Olympic Handball Stadium in Olympic Park on the 6th and 7th.
