KPOP WEEKLY RECAP | July 17 – 23 | Comebacks, Pre-Releases, and Upcoming Tracks

Another explosive week of comebacks went by! We even got a promising new girl group before the week came to a close!

The third week of July brought us a variety of music releases ranging from pop, rap, to even rock and roll. The boys of SEVENTEEN started it up with the release of their 4th album repackage "Sector 17", together with SISTAR Summer Queen Hyolyn who dropped her mini album "iCE".



On Tuesday, we saw the return of the two former leaders of second generation groups Wonder Girls and BLOCK B! Sunye pre-released her song "Glass Heart" from her upcoming mini album "Genuine", meanwhile Zico pre-released his song "Seoul Drift" from "Grown Ass Kid"!


On the same day, ILY:1 came back with their second digital single Que Sera Sera. Meanwhile, three members of NCT U released the song "Rain Day" through SM Station's NCT LAB Project!


And last but definitely not the least, 4th Generation it girls STAYC came back with "Beautiful Monster".

By Wednesday, the boy groups came out to play! GreatGuys returned with "Blind Love", while BLITZERS dropped "Hit the Bass"!


P1HARMONY also returned with their fourth mini album "HARMONY: ZERO IN" and XDINARY HEROES finally made their rock and roll comeback with "Hello World!"


And like a rose among the thorns, legendary HyunA came back with "Nabillera"!

Thursday felt like the day of collaborations, with MONSTA X collaborating with Sam Feldt for the song Late Night Feels and ASTRO releasing "U&Iverse" through the UNIVERSE platform.


WEEEKLY also made their low-key return by releasing their rendition of the song "Love" which was originally sung by BROWN EYED GIRLS.

Lastly, Friday came with an international collaboration! TXT released their acoustic bop "Valley of Lies" together with American chart-topping artist iann dior!

However, it didn't just stop there as Min Hee Jin, the creative director behind groups such as F(X) and EXO, revealed the girl group she developed called NewJeans! Not only that, NewJeans also came out with the music video for "Attention" before the members' names were even officially unveiled. The release made headlines all over the world due to the group's talent and charms, as well as the way they were introduced to the public!

The next day, the group released another music video, this time for the song "Hype Boy" which came together with four other versions to introduce each member!

What a week, right?

Brace yourselves because the fourth week might even get wilder with more groups coming back-to-back! Monday will see the return of PURPLE KISS, YOUNITE, and Hwasa x Loco collaboration!



On Tuesday, Sunye will release her mini album "Genuine" while boy group TAN will return with "Walking on the Moon"


This coming Wednesday will begin with the release of TWICE's fourth Japanese album "Celebrate". On the other hand, IST Entertainment's newest boy group ATBO will make their debut with the title song "Monochrome (Color)".


On Thursday, Yuju will drop her digital single "Evening" and TO1 will have their freshs start with the song "Drummin'". There will also be a new girl group debut with CSR!


And on Friday, Million-seller group ATEEZ will make their highly-anticipated return with their 8th mini album "THE WORLD EP.1 : MOVEMENT"
