Introduction
Yuri (유리) is a Korean-Russian singer, rapper and model under ESteem. He is one half of the duo JxR.
Born in Uzbekistan, Yuri later moved to Russia and was an athlete on the youth national team for swimming. He is now officially a Korean citizen after receiving his Korean citizenship on September 19th, 2019. He has already served under the Russian military, prior to his work in Korea.
He was supposed to debut under NCT, but it didn’t work out and transferred to ESteem to start his modeling career instead.
Yuri is also a member of Mensa, the largest and oldest high IQ society in the world.
In mid-2019, he participated in Mnet's boy group survival show Produce X 101 representing Vine Entertainment. He was eliminated in the 11th episode and ranked in 36th place.
