Introduction to ALPHA RAY
ALPHA RAY is an upcoming girl group under SG Entertainment. They’re still currently releasing members. So far, the members are Yelin, Chaeyeon, Jiyun, Jiyeon. On October 30, 2020 SG Entertainment announced the termination of I Hwa's contract and departure from the group. As of December 2020, Hanna and Yuri were not confirmed in the line-up. They will promote as influencers under the company instead. On January 4, 2021, SG Entertainment released a statement announcing that Aiganym left the group and the company. With over half of their trainees gone from the group line-up, SG Entertainment deleted all their SNS content and no longer mentions 'ALPHA RAY', assuming that the girl group has disbanded. Yelin, Chaeyeon, Jiyun and Jiyeon remained with SG Entertainment and have since became a part of a trainee group known as SG Girls, suggesting that the agency still plans to debut the remaining trainees in a new upcoming group.
