Before joining
BLACKSWAN, Sriya had a youtube channel where she posted vocal covers and dance videos.

One of her friends suggested to Sriya that she should apply for K-Pop auditions.

Sriya decided to build on her K-pop dream after she watched the video of
EXO "
Growl" and tried to copy the members’ moves.

It was her grandmother who found her a Hindustani classical music teacher for her to train under. She attended his classes twice a week but only really learned Western vocals by herself through watching online videos.

Sriya is trained in several dance styles, including Odissi classical form, freestyle, hip-hop and contemporary.

She learned Korean online and by watching lots of Korean dramas to strengthen her grasp of Korean language and culture.

In 2020, Sriya started auditioning for K-pop groups.

Sriya learned the Indian classical dance form Odissi for a year and a half.

She had to drop a year of school after her class 10 examinations in 2020 due to COVID-19.
