Introduction

Golden Child is a seven-member boy group under Woollim Entertainment. Originally with eleven members, they debuted on August 28, 2017 with their first mini album "Gol-Cha!".

Six of the members were introduced through Woollim's W PROJECT which showcased their trainees through a series of releases. Joochan and trainee Soyoon released a collaboration single titled "No One Like You" on January 20, 2017. The following month, Jangjun and Youngtaek released the single "Drought". In March, Daeyeol, Jaeseok, and Donghyun were introduced as a performance unit.

On January 7, 2018, Woollim Entertainment announced Jaeseok's departure from the group due to health issues.

On August 27, 2024, a statement was released by Woollim Entertainment announcing that, out of the ten members, seven of them renewed their contracts with the agency. The three members that didn't renew their contracts, Tag, Jibeom, and Bomin, would be leaving the group and the agency.
