Min Yoongi, known under his stage name Suga or Agust D, is a South Korean rapper, songwriter, dancer, producer, and composer under Big Hit Entertainment and HYBE Labels. He is best known as the lead rapper of the worldwide sensation boy group BTS.
SUGA was born in Daegu, South Korea on March 9, 1993. He made his humble beginnings as an undergound rapper with the stage name Gloss. Eventually, aside from rapping, SUGA also began to produce music at the age of 13. In 2016 he released his first solo mixtape, "Agust D," under the alias Agust D.
ARMYs lovingly nickname him as the 'Grumpy Grandpa' of the group, but behind his lethargic and sometimes motionless demeanor, SUGA is considered as the sweetest member.
SUGA became the highest-charting South Korean soloist on the Billboard 200 chart with his second solo mixtape ‘D-2’, in 2020.
SUGA’s first official solo album, ”D-DAY”, released in 2023 reached the no. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 chart and earned him his first no. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales Chart. The album’s title track ”Haegeum” became his fourth solo entry on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.
On April 26, 2023, Suga began his D-DAY world tour under the name Agust D. The tour ended on August 6 2023. SUGA made history with the tour, becoming the highest-grossing concert tour by a South Korean soloist. According to Touring Data, he earned a total revenue of $57.2 million with 28 sold out shows in the U.S. and Asia.
