On January 5th, The Community Chest of Korea announced, "Nayeon has joined the Fruit of Love Honor Society. She has been named as the first honor member in 2024 and the 3333rd honor member nationwide."
The Community Chest of Korea is a South Korean nonprofit organization that focuses on community-based fundraising efforts. Its 'Honor Society,' is a group of individual major donors who have donated more than 100 million won or pledged to donate within 5 years. Nayeon qualified for this membership through her consistent donation over the years.
According to reports, the TWICE member made her first donation in 2020. She shared 50 million won to a special fundraiser to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This was followed by multiple anonymous donations, which was belatedly discovered by the press.
In particular, Nayeon helped pay for the treatment of low-income patients at Donggang Hospital. It is said that 10 patients were able to receive surgery and treatment thanks to Nayeon.
This year, Nayeon joined the honor society after donating 30 million won. Last January 4th, her acts of kindness and addition to the honor society was recognized through a ceremony held at the JYP Entertainment in Seoul.
Regarding this, Nayeon said, "It is a great honor to join the Honor Society for the first time in the new year. Although I have a small heart, I will become an artist who has a positive influence.”
Meanwhile, Nayeon's recent donation will be used for surgical expenses benefiting medically underprivileged people in the area through Ulsan Donggang Hospital.
