On September 21, 2020, Seonyou was announced as an upcoming contestant on the teen reality competition show "CAP-TEEN". She was eliminated after being unable to pass the first performance evaluation.

On September 8, 2021, Seonyou was revealed as a contestant on the MBC's survival show "My Teenage Girl". During the finale, she ranked second place with 241,178.9 votes, thus becoming a member of the girl group CLASS:y. CLASS:y made their debut on May 5, 2022 with the mini album "Class Is Over".
