On February 7th, SM Entertainment officially announced the renewal of Red Velvet Irene's exclusive contract. The agency said, "Based on mutual trust and partnership, we have signed a new contract with Irene following Seulgi. We will provide support in various ways so that she can be more active as a global artist, and we ask for your continued love and interest.”
The idol also shared her thoughts regarding the renewal of her contact, "I decided to renew my contract because I trusted the staff of the company who have been with me since my debut, and SM who helped me become who I am today. I am grateful to the fans who have always supported Red Velvet. We will show our good side through various activities with the members this year as well."
Irene is the second member of Red Velvet to renew her exclusive contract with the agency after Seulgi in August of last year. With this, attention is focused on the decision of the other members Joy, Yeri, and Wendy.
Meanwhile, Red Velvet released their 3rd full album "Chill Kill" in November 2023 and returned to full group activities. On February 21-22, the girl group is set to perform in the 'SMTOWN LIVE 2024 SMCU PALACE @TOKYO', which will be held at Tokyo Dome.
