Irene is a South Korean singer, rapper, dancer, and actress under SM Entertainment. She is the leader of the girl group Red Velvet and a member of its sub-unit Red Velvet - Irene & Seulgi.

Irene debuted as the leader of Red Velvet on August 1, 2014, with the single "Happiness". She later debuted in their first sub-unit Red Velvet - Irene & Seulgi with their first mini album "Monster" on July 6, 2020.

Besides her group acitvities, Irene has also partipated in acting projects. She made her debut as an actress through the 2021 movie "Double Patty."
