Lee Chaeryeong is a South Korean dancer, singer-songwriter, and composer under JYP Entertainment. She is best known as one of the main dancers of the girl group ITZY.
Before making her debut, Chaeryeong, along with her older sister Chaeyeon, appeared as a contestant on the reality television competition show K-pop Star 3 on November 24, 2013. Despite getting eliminated, both sisters were able to become JYP Entertainment trainees after the show. A year later, as official trainees, both sisters then competed on the girl group survival show SIXTEEN—the same show where TWICE was created. However, Chaeryeong was eliminated in the final episode. Following the show's conclusion, Chaeryeong continued to train under the agency.
On January 20, 2019, Chaeryeong was revealed as the third member of ITZY. The group officially debuted on February 2, 2019, with their debut single album "IT'z Different".
On January 20, 2019, four years after her appearance in SIXTEEN, Chaeryeong was revealed to be a member of the girl group ITZY. She made her solo debut with "Mine" on the 25th of December 2023 in the album 'BORN TO BE'.
