Boy group OMEGA X was verbally abused and assaulted by the former CEO of its agency and expressed its intention to take legal action.
The members of OMEGA X held a press conference at the Bar Association in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on November 16 and said they will take legal action against the agency officials, including A, who served as the CEO of the agency's Spire Entertainment.
The members said that A's verbal abuse began in November last year and lasted for nearly a year. Leader Jaehan said, "She used the fact that she was CEO to force me to drink". He shared that she habitually sexually harassed him by making sexual harassment remarks or touching his thighs and face and held his hands. She also commented things like "If you want to continue with OMEGA X, you have to crawl on your hands and knees in front of me," and, "I'm going to kill myself", "I'm going to kill you," adding, "The members were anxious because she threatened us, and some members had to undergo psychiatric treatment."
Jehyun said, "All the members sometimes show anxiety and panic symptoms, and I am also receiving psychiatric treatment," adding, "The members feel anxiety just by hearing a high-pitched female voice."
The legal representative for OMEGA X, said, "We applied for an injunction to suspend the exclusive contract today, and we plan to proceed with strong measures such as criminal charges and alimony claims sequentially. We plan to file a criminal complaint on charges of assault, intimidation, and harassment."
OMEGA X is an 11-member boy group that debuted in June 2021 with the release of its first mini-album "VAMOS," and was also called "re-debut idol" because all members debuted in other boy groups before re-debuting as OMEGA X.
Meanwhile, Spire Entertainment said, "We are currently organizing our position" regarding the contents of the interview.
