“I Thought It’s Kwangya Boys?” – SM Entertainment Allegedly Filing a Trademark for “RIIZE” for Their New Boy Group Becomes a Hot Topic

A netizen shared online a screen capture of SM Entertainment's newest boy group name which they allegedly filed for trademark last May 24th of this year. Combining the words "Rise" and "Realize," the group will be named "RIIZE."

Korean netizens expressed their thoughts over the matter, with some stating that they expected it to be "Kwangya boys" and some praising the meaning behind the group name.

However, some netizens couldn't help but point out that there is a group in China with a similar name "R1SE" which is formed by Tencent through the 2019 reality show Produce Camp 2019.
