"I Shouldn't Look the Same, Though” – Sunmi Opens Up About the Challenges of Being a Soloist

"Looking at my solo music over the past ten years, you will feel my struggle… I think I shouldn't look the same, though.”

Soloist Sunmi revealed the hardships she experienced while preparing a new song.

Sunmi's showcase for releasing her digital single “Stranger” was held on the 17th at Blue Square Mastercard Hall in Seoul. The new album depicts Sunmi's unique music and concept, presenting a fascinating story of love and emotions.

“Stranger” is Sunmi's latest self-composed song. Sunmi explains that she put her most Sunmi-like feelings into the music. She said, “To be honest, as it has been 17 years since my debut and ten years as a solo artist,” She has never thought, ‘What new side will she show?’ She emphasized, "You know the kind of character Sunmi is.”

She continued, “There is no obsession with newness on my part. Instead, looking at my solo music over the past ten years, you will feel my struggle… I think I shouldn't look the same, though.

The soloist also said, "There is no obsession with newness. Instead, if you watch my solo music for ten years, you'll feel my difficulty of I shouldn't look the same though,"

“However, if I perform in such an obsession, I think I'm thinking about doing something new, but I'm still trying not to get out of it because there's a scene that the public likes," he said.

"Some songs have been loved by the public, such as 'Gashina' and '24 hours'. As a person who makes music, I have no intention of going beyond this. Whether it wasn't good or not, I think it's a strong display now." she said

Meanwhile, on the same day, Sunmi released her newest digital single "Stranger."
