BTS's Suga Apologizes For DUI In Handwritten Letter

BTS's Suga released a handwritten apology.

On the 25th, Suga posted a long handwritten apology through the fan community Weverse. "I would like to apologize again with shame. I deeply apologize to my fans and all the people who love me for my wrong actions."

Suga said, "I've made a big mistake, forgetting the responsibility to repay you for the love I've received. On the night of August 6, I made the mistake of driving on an electric scooter after drinking. I'm also sorry for the confusion caused by the first apology I hastily posted on the 7th. I should have thought more and been more careful, but I couldn't. It's all my fault," and added, "My carelessness is making it hard for everyone who cares for me. I will try not to do wrong things again and live with repentance."

He said, "This has left a great dent in the precious memories I made with the members and fans and caused trouble to BTS's name. I am so sorry and suffer so much that it is hard to express it to the members and the team. I am sorry that the members who always trusted me have a hard time because of me. And I know very well the disappointment that the fans who supported me must have felt. I am sorry for the fans who have always given me their love."

Suga said, "I know it is difficult to heal the hurt and disappointment that fans have suffered from any words, so I regret it deeply and reflect on it with a heavy heart every day. Once again, I sincerely apologize to the fans who have been hurt by me. I will accept the criticism and reprimand as well as future dispositions. Finally, I sincerely apologize again for causing social controversy and disappointing many people."

Earlier on the 6th, Suga was found by police while falling alone while riding an electric scooter while drunk on the street in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

Later, he wrote on the fan communication platform Weverse, "After drinking dinner last night, I went home on an electric kickboard. I violated the road traffic laws without realizing that it was impossible to use an electric kickboard while drinking."

"There were no people or facilities damaged in this process, but I would like to bow down and apologize to everyone because it is my responsibility that has no excuse. I apologize to everyone who was hurt by my careless and wrong behavior, and I will be more careful about my behavior in the future to prevent this from happening."

However, it was revealed that Suga rode an "electric scooter" rather than an "electric kickboard" and told the police that he had a light beer, but the controversy grew when it was revealed that blood alcohol levels were higher to the point that they could take his drivers' license.

Suga, who attended the Yongsan Police Station in Yongsan-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 23rd, reportedly admitted to the charges of drunk driving charge in a police investigation.

Suga told reporters, "I am so sorry that I caused you a lot of hurt and disappointment due to my wrong behavior. I regret it. I will not let this happen again. I want to say sorry to many people who loved me. I am sorry again."
