"Holssi" is described as a song that contains hip-hop/R&B roots, together with IU's charming vocals that captivate people of all ages. The song is composed by Lee Jong-hoon and Lee Chae-gyu, who were also behind IU's hit songs, such as "Twenty-three" and "Blooming." In addition, IU herself wrote the lyrics of the song.
