The controversy first erupted when people pointed out that the initial title, "Love Wins," is used as a phrase in support of LGBTQ people.
Internet users raised concerns that the slogan "Love Wins" would be replaced with an image different from the original meaning, and its symbolism would be tarnished. Some fans responded that the criticism was excessive.
IU decided to change the title considering the meaning of the song. The agency said, "We would like to accept opinions that the title of the song will blur important messages and respect and support everyone who loves and lives in various ways."
"If there is a word in the most opposite point to the message in the song to be released, it is hate," they said, adding, "We sincerely hope that all love will win in a world without hate, and that the meaning of the song will be conveyed without hurting anyone."
Meanwhile, "Love Wins All" will be released on January 24th at 6 p.m KST.
