On January 5th, Japan's Oricon Chart announced their annual ranking for 2023, revealing that LE SSERAFIM earned 2.2 billlion yen of sales in just their first year since making Japanese debut. Because of this, they officially became the top selling rookie artist in Japan for the year 2023.

Oricon said, “Based on the rookie rankings, it is the first time in 20 years since 2003 that a female group has exceeded 2 billion yen in sales (about 18.1 billion won).”
Rookie rankings are based on the combined sales amount of singles, albums, streaming, and music DVDs. In particular, LE SSERAFIM's sales were comprised of streaming (49%), singles (31%), albums (18%), and downloads (2%).
