"I-LAND" was a South Korean survival reality program developed by Belift Lab which aired on Mnet Channel from June 26 - September 18, 2020. It was a joint venture between CJ ENM and HYBE LABELS. The show consisted of 23 trainees who competed against each other in various challenges, both as individuals and group. Several trainees were eliminated throughout the episodes until 12 remained. Ultimately, on the final episode, 7 trainees were left which lead to the formation and debut of ENHYPEN.

Controversy of I-LAND

During the airing of the program, many fans pointed out the cruel mechanics of the show which involved having the trainees take part in each other's elimination. Moreover, on June 2020, there were also reported injuries, such as when a staff fell from a stage and a trainee getting injured which prevented his appearance from the show.
