SBS Inkigayo to Host Live Stage Overseas In Japan, Unveils Lineup

Finally landed!

For the first time in 27 years, SBS's music show "Inkigayo" performs overseas. SBS is also following KBS in holding large-scale performances in Japan and Korea. 'Inkigayo Live in Tokyo' will perform for two days at Ariake Arena in Japan on October 3-4.

Inkigayo has promoted the event on its official SNS, saying, "The K-pop stage of enthusiasm, finally landing in Japan."

Ariake Arena is a large Japanese concert hall accommodating up to 15,000 people. "Inkigayo" is expected to attract 30,000 people for two days.

On the first day, October 3, OH MY GIRL, ATEEZ, Tempest, ZEROBASEONE, and the girl group NiziU launched by JYP in Japan, will be on stage.

Meanwhile, On October 4, NCT Dream, SHINee's Key, (G)I-DLE, Kep1er, TNX (The New Six), and I.N. from the debut group of 'Produce 101 Japan Season 2.'

Ticket prices are 17,000 yen (about 156,073 won).

The Japanese market, which has a loyal fandom, is also considered a large market in the music industry. Some analysts say last year's performance alone amounted to 3.5 trillion won. Despite the conflicting public opinion of KBS, terrestrial broadcasters' decision to go to Japan one after another, such as pushing to hold the year-end Song Festival in Japan, is also in line with this "logic of money."

An official said, "It is clear that Japan is a large-scale market that I don't want to miss even in the K-pop scene," but pointed out, "However, there should be a clear justification for why KBS, a public broadcaster, is now Japan."
