ZEROBASEONE (ZB1) is a South Korean boy group formed through the reality competition show Boys Planet and managed by WakeOne. Their name symbolizes the members' journey from "zero to one," marking the beginning of their career as a unified group.
The group officially debuted on July 10, 2023, with their first extended play (EP), Youth in the Shade, which achieved commercial success, selling over two million copies and topping the South Korean Circle Album Chart. The group's lead single "In Bloom" also charted on the Billboard Global 200. ZEROBASEONE's debut made them the first boy group to be a million-seller before their official debut, recording 1.08 million pre-orders.
ZB1 also earned a "Rookie Grand Slam" by winning ten "Rookie of the Year" awards across major domestic ceremonies, including the Golden Disc Awards and MAMA Awards.
After their successful debut, the group released their second EP Melting Point in November 2023, which also sold over two million copies in its first week. In March 2024, ZEROBASEONE made their Japanese debut with the single "Yura Yura (Flower of Fate)," setting a new sales record for debut singles in Japan by a Kpop artist.
