IU Announces September Concert

Singer and actress IU (29, Lee Ji-eun) will hold a solo concert at the Olympic Main Stadium in Jamsil Stadium, Seoul, the first female singer in Korea to perform at this stadium.

The agency EDAM Entertainment announced on social media on the afternoon of the 27th that IU will hold her solo concert "The Golden Hour: Under the Orange Sun" at the Olympic Main Stadium from September 17th to 18th.

IU became the first female singer in Korea to stand on the stage at the Olympic Main Stadium. The singer is celebrating her 14th anniversary this year, reportedly pushed for a performance at the Olympic Main Stadium in 2020, but it was canceled in the aftermath of COVID-19. However, IU, who turned 30 this year in Korean age, opened her 30s with another meaningful record.

In particular, September 18th is the day IU debuted with the song "Mia" on Mnet's music show "M Countdown" in 2008.

The concert starts at 7 p.m. on both days. Considering that it is held in early autumn, it is just sunset. In other words, the Olympic Main Stadium has a roof, so it is time for the sunset created by the orange sun to fill the concert hall. This is why the subtitle is "Under the Orange Sun."

Accordingly, the opening song is likely to be "eight," which includes the lyrics, "We dance together under the orange sun / without shadows." "Eight" is a song co-produced by IU and Suga, a member of the global supergroup "BTS".

This is her first concert in more than three years since 2019.
