IU Accused of Being a North Korean Spy By Extremists
The handouts were also posted in Korean online communities, with claims that IU is 'in team' with Former President Moon Jae In. Messages such as 'IU, the first-class spy' and 'IU who sells global Woori Bank and North Korean banks' are also mentioned.
According to reports, most of the handouts were found in parking lots, and it is assumed that they are from extremists who spread false propaganda.
Moreover, this isn't the first time handouts containing unfounded stories about IU have been discovered. In another document that was scattered a while ago, messages such as "North Korea's first-class spy, IU," and "South Korea will die if you don't listen to IU, a celebrity in the North Korean cultural industry" were written.
IU's agency, EDAM Entertainment, has yet to release an official statement.
