On December 10th, WOODZ shared a heartfelt letter to fans, announcing his military enlistment on January 22, 2024. The singer-songwriter said, "Hello, this is Cho Seungyoun. Today, I am writing this because I have news to share directly with you, MOODZ. On January 22nd, 2024, I will be called by my country to serve in the military. The time of military enlistment, which seemed so far away to me, has arrived. I think I have been thinking about enlisting in the military since last year. I will leave for just a moment and fulfill my national defense duties, not as WOODZ, but as a young man named Cho Seung Youn."
"Almost 10 years have passed since I debuted and started activities. I am so grateful to have been filled with so many precious and happy memories with you all. I will come back healthier. Everyone, wherever you are, don’t get sick and stay healthy and happy," he added.
WOODZ made his official debut in 2014 as a member of the boy group UNIQ before becoming a soloist. He also joined 'Produce X 101,' and became a member of the now-disbanded project group X1.
Meanwhile, WOODZ announcement became a hot topic on South Korean online communities, with netizens commenting:
