On December 29th, YG Entertainment put all of the rumors to rest by finally announcing that the BLACKPINK members have decided not to continue their individual activities with the agency, following the expiration of their exclusive contracts. The agency said, "YG recently signed an extension contract for BLACKPINK's group activities, and agreed not to proceed with a separate additional contract for individual activities."
The agency added, "We will do our best to support BLACKPINK's activities, and we will support the members' individual activities with a warm heart."
Last December 6th, YG Entertainment announced that BLACKPINK signed an exclusive contract to continue group activities with the agency. They also shared plans to repay the love of fans around the world through a new album and a large-scale world tour.
Meanwhile, among the members of BLACKPINK, Jennie was the first to unveil her future plans as a soloist by establishing her own company called Odd Atelier. With this, attention is focused on the other members' next move outside YG Entertainment.
