On February 1st, IST Entertainment announced, "VICTON's Kang Seungsik applied for the Army Military Band and recently received final notification from the Military Manpower Administration. He plans to enlist on March 20th."
"The enlistment location and time are private, and no separate event will be held on the day to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and confusion on the site," the agency added.
Previously, on the 31st, Kang Seungsik announced the news of his military enlistment directly to fans through Weverse Live, a global fan community platform. Kang Seungsik directly conveyed his enlistment, saying, "I enlisted on March 20th," and said, "I promise to show you a better image when I come back. I will go in good health. Thank you from the bottom of my heart." He also raised expectations by saying, "I'm preparing for a solo fan meeting before enlisting in March."
Meanwhile, last week, fellow VICTON member Seungwoo was discharged from the military last January 27th.
