Are They Waiting for Ahyeon? – Hiatus Rumors Emerge As Netizens Slam YG for Not Letting BABYMONSTER Perform on Music Shows

While BABYMONSTER's debut was postponed to aim for "better quality," their debut song "BATTER UP" continues to receive mixed reactions from fans.

Rumors then emerged that they would be taking an "unofficial hiatus" following the group's lack of activities after the release of the music video.

According to YG Entertainment:

"There is no fixed schedule for BABYMONSTER's music broadcast appearances yet."

As the group has many pre-debut fans, they have been expecting official appearances of the group and music show performances. In addition to this, it is speculated by netizens that the group might be taking an unofficial hiatus to wait for Ahyeon before they return with an album like what their label did with iKon.

They commented:

• To all new fans. Welcome to YG. Is it okay? NO. Why am I just accepting it? I have been a fan of YG artists for years, we have hated YG for years and I am tired. All I can say is that it is a YG thing. Expect more things like this or worse, years of hiatus without comeback.
• It’s the same as what happened with iKon. They released "My Type" with no music show promotions and came back with an album. Hopefully, they’ll come back soon and are just waiting for Ahyeon.
• If this is going to be the case (no Ahyeon, showcase; performances, (not even virtual), or anything really), we could've just waited for Ahyeon. Simply telling us she had a health issue would've been enough, instead of rolling out teasers, a song, and mv without her.
• If they're doing the same promotion as iKON, they will probably release an album after this pre-release single with no music show promotions
• I hope the hiatus is only 1 month. We badly need a comeback asap
• You mentioned music shows but what really shocks me is the lack of media showcase...
  • the notice that "there is no need to hold a media showcase because we are too high quality" was so funny like imagine shitting on every single other group in the industry. They just wanted to avoid questions about Ahyeon and YG himself
• Someone needs to study what's going on in that company because there was honestly no need to debut these girls if one member was not there at the moment but will be back soon and then also not promote their debut anywhere... I do believe this might have all just been done for the sake of shareholders to ensure they don't get paranoid and withdraw any money they've got in the company
