ILLIT Becomes Fastest K-Pop Group To Enter Billboard Hot 100

ILLIT is breaking new records!

According to the U.S. Billboard on Thursday (local time), "Magnetic," which was released on April 25, ranked 91st on the U.S. Billboard's main single chart. It has been 22 days since its debut.

ILLIT is the seventh K-pop girl group to enter the Hot 100, following Wonder Girls, Blackpink, Twice, New Jeans, FIFTY FIFTY, and LE SSERAFIM. Moreover, ILLIT became the first K-pop girl group to be listed on the Billboard Hot 100 with their debut song.

Minju, Iroha, Wonhee, Mocha, and Yoona of ILLIT are posing at a showcase to celebrate the release of their first mini album "SUPER REAL ME" at the Master Card Hall in Blesquare, Yongsan-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 25th.

ILLIT, who has made his debut less than a month ago, proved to be a "super rookie" by making it into the Hot 100!

ILLIT's power is also powerful in Korean music charts. As of 9 a.m. on Wednesday, it is ranking No. 1 on Melon, Bugs, Flow and YouTube Music. "Easy listening songs like ILLIT's 'Magnetic' are receiving good responses on Billboard's single chart, and it is another matter of whether they can reach the top of the chart," cultural critic Kim Hun-shik said optimistically. "If ILLIT's current trend continues, it will be possible in a short period of time."

Their debut song "Magnetic," which means they will lead the public like a magnet, is playing a significant role in their name. "A singer follows a song" literally means that. Repeated chorus increases the addictive nature of the song, choreography appropriate for the challenge, and childish but cute clothes solidified ILLIT's identity. At the same time, they also killed two birds with one stone by trying to differentiate them from LE SSERAFIM and NewJeans, senior groups under the same HYBE label.

In fact, ILLIT won their first music show with "Magnetic" on SBS M's "The Show" on the 2nd, eight days after their debut. Since then, they has also topped MBC's "Show! Music Core" on the 13th and won two awards. At the beginning of their broadcasting activities, there were below expectations for live performances, but they also showed that their confidence on stage increased rapidly as her experience gained.

Internet users are positively evaluating ILLIT's rookie spirit and passion, such as "You look pretty trying hard," "I hope your live skills will improve further because you are still a rookie," and "The attitude to accept and correct criticism is important."

ILLIT, who has now achieved a career high with their debut song 'Magnetic', is preparing for another super syndrome.

Belief Lab, the agency, announced that it will release a music video for "Lucky Girl Syndrome," a track from its first mini album "Super Real Me" on Thursday. In addition, ILLIT will perform "Lucky Girl Syndrome" on Mnet's "M Countdown," MBC's "Show! Music Core" and SBS' "Inkigayo" starting from Friday.

Other than "Magnetic" songs have not entered the charts in Korea's major music charts. However, since songs are frequently backpedaled after music broadcasts, expectations are high as to what kind of records ILLIT will make with "Lucky Girl Syndrome."
