Stray Kids Felix Apologizes For Mentioning Japanese Song During Korea's Liberation Day
The Korean-Australian idol wrote, "First of all, I would like to apologize to everyone, including the fans who were disappointed by my carelessness. I mentioned a Japanese song while discussing the short form challenge with fans through a personal communication community in the early morning of August 15th. I sincerely apologize for being inattentive and careless on this meaningful Independence Day."
"I am deeply reflecting on my lack of historical consciousness. I will study, think, and act more in areas where I have been lacking, and be careful not to repeat this," he added.
Felix's swift apology comes after criticisms poured in from South Korean netizens. Today, August 15th, marks the 79th anniversary of Liberation Day, a day to commemorate Korea's liberation from Japan in 1945 and celebrate the establishment of the Republic of Korea government, which succeeded the legal tradition of the Provisional Government.
