It might seem crazy what I am to say… NewJeans collaborates with Pharrell Williams!
According to ADOR, Pharrell Williams is credited as both a composer and lyricist for NewJeans Japanese single "Supernatural". The single will be released on June 21st and will include 4 tracks including the said song.
“Supernatural” is a song that creates an exquisite harmony between a melody that evokes nostalgia and the members' emotional vocals. ADOR explained about this song, “Producer 250 took his iconic ad-lib and bridge from Pharrell Williams’ 2009 collaboration with Japanese singer Manami, ‘Back of My Mind,’ and reinterpreted it in a new jack swing style.”
Pharrell Williams, best known for his mega-hit song 'Happy', is a world-renowned singer and producer who has won multiple Grammy Awards.
Along with this, NewJeans announced a series of collaborations with cultural and artistic giants such as Murakami Takashi and Hiroshi Fujiwara, raising expectations for an unprecedented Japanese debut. In addition, they will hold a sold-out fan meeting at Tokyo Dome at the same time as the Japanese debut.
NewJeans will make their first comeback in Korea on the 24th. The music video for "Bubble Gum," a song included in the double single "How Sweet", which was pre-released on the 27th of last month, ranked first in the popular Korean weekly music video category on YouTube for two consecutive weeks and continued to be popular by maintaining a high ranking on the global weekly charts.
