G-Dragon's 'POWER' Tops iTunes Charts In 15 Countries

K-pop superstar G-Dragon, born in '88 and returned after 88 months of hiatus, has taken the music scene by storm.

G-Dragon's newest single, POWER, has topped the iTunes chart in 15 countries, including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Thailand. The song is also currently placed second on Korean music streaming platforms like Bugs, Melon, and Genie, ranking closely to Rosé's 'APT.' with Bruno Mars. Released on October 31st, the hip-hop track marks G-Dragon's comeback to the music scene after his 2017 EP, 'Kwon Ji Yong'.

The BIGBANG leader showed his satirical take on the power of media through his new song. Before the release of 'POWER', G-Dragon appeared on last week's episode of 'You Quiz on the Block' and said, During my seven-year hiatus, I realized the incredible influence of media as a third-party observer.

In 2023, G-Dragon faced charges of drug use that were eventually dropped due to insufficient evidence. He tested negative for the drug tests and it was later revealed that the police tipped off the drug investigations to the press.

Meanwhile, fans have shown positive responses to G-Dragon's highly anticipated return. As a member of the second-generation K-pop group BIGBANG, G-Dragon has established a solid fanbase over the years, and everyone has high expectations of his new music.
