In the previous months, HYBE has been involved in several scandals but this time around they are once again being criticized online for leaked Internal Documents where it was found that the company is possibly guilty of chart manipulation as well as manipulating public perception around other idol groups.
However, a lot of the public's negative reaction to this issue has been mostly directed at the HYBE artists and not the company itself. Because of this, several HYBE artists who have gone through hate campaigns this year such as LE SSERAFIM, ILLIT, TXT, and ENHYPEN, are bearing the brunt of the hate being thrown towards HYBE. Aware of the situation, Seungkwan took it upon himself to speak up in defense of his fellow artists on an Instagram post.

Many K-pop fans have praised Seungkwan's call to the public to treat idols with kindness and not treat them as "commodities." While a lot of them have called out K-pop fans' hypocrisy when it comes to the mental health of idols.
everytime an idol speaks up kpop stans will go “idols mental health matters” and then the next day they’ll be back to spreading hate, misinformation, and giving pannchoa engagements nobody’s taking you guys seriously anymore

Prior to this, TXT's Yeonjun also spoke about artists being aware of the comments that they are getting and to not send them hate comments if they didn't do anything wrong.
🦊: a lot of artists monitor everything so i hope you don’t post things that should’ve just ended as a thought and will hurt the artist in the end
