Jungwoo is a South Korean singer-songwriter primarily active in the Korean indie music scene. Renowned for her clear voice and evocative, lyrical songwriting, her musical style is often compared to that of the late Kim Kwang-seok, an influential figure in Korean folk music.
She began to garner attention in 2017 through performances around Hongdae Street, a vibrant hub for indie music in Seoul. Her talent led to guest appearances at solo concerts for various artists, including Choi Go-eun, Han Kyung-rok of Crying Nut, and Kim Sa-wol. In December 2016, she signed with CTR Sound, a significant milestone in her career.
On September 5, 2019, she released her debut full-length album, The Sixth Saturday. Following this, she parted ways with CTR Sound on December 16, 2022. She subsequently announced the production of her second full-length album, Cloud Cuckoo Land, which was released on November 9, 2023.
