I filled my own feelings and hopes in this song and I believe you can feel that deeply. - 우주멍게 2nd EP Lead Single [Roller Coaster Tycoon] ‘Roller Coaster Tycoon’은 2000년대 초반 즐겨하던 동명의 게임에서 제목을 따온 곡입니다. 게임에서 플레이어는 자신만의 놀이동산을 만들고 방문객들을 즐겁게 하는 것을 주 목적으로 하는데요. 당시에 방문객들을 제멋대로 집게로 집어서 위험한 롤러코스터 위에 올려놓거나 물에 빠트리는 짓궂은 플레이가 유행이었어요. 저는 요즘 제가 그 집게로 들여 올려진 사람같다고 느끼곤 합니다. ‘나’라는 존재를 온전히 책임지기 위해 원치 않는 선택을 하기도 하고 사회가 원하는 롤에 저를 맞추기도 해요. 그럴 때 마다 마치 제 인생의 컨트롤 키를 남이 가지고 있는 기분이 들곤 했습니다. 하지만 곡의 가사처럼 스스로 ‘Utopia isn’t at the other space’라고 되새기며 살아가고 있어요. 이 곡이 지금 저와 같이 자신만의 유토피아를 향한 여정을 떠난 분들의 배경 음악이 되길 바랍니다.
