NewJeans Breaks A New Record on Spotify For a 4th Generation Group

ADOR's girl group NewJeans led by CEO Min Hee-jin, has renewed its fourth-generation K-pop record in Spotify, the world's largest music streaming company.

According to the latest data released by Spotify on the 16th (October 12th), the cumulative number of plays of NewJeans' self-titled debut album "New Jeans" has surpassed 200 million streams.

"NewJeans," which achieved 100 million cumulative playbacks as of the 6th of last month, has been played more than 100 million times in about five weeks. As it has been played more than 200 million times in 73 days since its release, New Jeans has set a new record for 200 million streaming of the album Spotify in the shortest period among the "4th generation K-pop" groups that debuted since 2018, according to its agency, ADOR.

In particular, the cumulative number of plays of "Hype Boy" and "Attention" were 76,243,947 and 74,509,175, respectively, and both songs increased by nearly 40 million in a month, showing off their popularity that did not cool down even in the third month of release.

In addition, based on the latest chart (October 12), "Hype Boy" has been at the top for nine consecutive days after recapturing the top spot in "Daily Top Song Korea" on the 4th. Daily Top Song Global has been charting in for 60 consecutive days. All songs on the album "New Jeans" have been listed on the "Daily Top Song Korea" chart without missing a single day since its release.

Earlier, 'Attention' entered the 200th place on the 'Weekly Top Song America' chart for the first time as a K-pop group debut song. In addition, NewJeans's "Monthly Listeners" surpassed 10 million on the 18th of last month, and NewJeans is the only K-pop group that has exceeded 10 million "Monthly Listeners" in the past six years.
