It was confirmed on the 31st that Lotte Wellfood had chosen the girl group NewJeans as the Pepero model. The group is also the model for Pepero Day on November 11th.
Lotte Wellfood chose male idol group EXO as Pepero models from 2014 to 2017. This is the first time in about 6 years that a model for Pepero has been selected as an idol again.
This can be interpreted as an attempt to target the global market through the uniqueness of Pepero Day and the collaboration with NewJeans, who are always trending in Korea and abroad.
The product packaging boxes are filled with images of NewJeans and come in Pepero Choco, Almond, and Crunchy flavors.
This counts as another partnership for NewJeans! Their recent brand partnerships were with McDonald's and Coca-Cola.
