On December 21st, Galaxy Corporation, popularly known as an AI metaverse company, held a press conference on behalf of their new artist, G-Dragon. During the press conference, company director, Oh Hee Young, attracted attention by reading a handwritten letter from the BIGBANG member, who couldn't be at the event.
Through the letter, G-Dragon expressed intent on establishing a foundation to eliminate illegal drugs after he was investigated and cleared for drug charges. He said, "After going through this incident, I saw something I had never seen before. When I watched the news, I learned the heartbreaking fact that the number of drug offenders per year reached an average of 20,000 and that the number of juvenile drug offenders was increasing at a alarming rate. So I decided I had to take action. We will actively work to eradicate drugs for the sake of defenseless exposed youth and those who do not know they are going down the wrong path."
G-Dragon continued, "I want to play a systemic role in protecting people who cannot receive treatment by standing next to them and protecting them as someone’s older brother and colleague so that unfair events do not repeat themselves. In order to truly continue this activity, we decided to create a foundation. I want to stand on the side of those who are harmed by prejudice and injustice in the world and create a society where we live together with respect," adding, “We want to solve social problems such as eradicating drugs and unfairness, and provide support to artists who do not have opportunities. If the foundation sows the seeds, we will carry out campaigns for world peace with our great fellow artists. We will make a comeback and fulfill both our responsibilities as artists and our social responsibilities.”
In addition, G-Dragon reached out to the fans, expressing his gratitude to them, as well as to his first agency, YG Entertainment, "I hope that you will also fulfill your responsibilities in your position. It was a very eventful year for me as well.
