Blockberry Creative Petitions to Ban Chuu's Entertainment Activities

The conflict between former LOONA member Chuu and Blockberry Creative continues.

On February 1st, Korean media outlets reported that in December 2022, Blockberry submitted a petition to the CEMA (Corea Entertainment Management Association) and KEPA (Korea Entertainment Producers' Association) to ban Chuu's entertainment activities.

In particular, it was confirmed that Blockberry officially raised the issue of Chuu's tampering (pre-contact) by submitting a complaint through the CEMA Disciplinary Mediation Ethics Committee. Blockberry judged that Chuu had already tampered with BY4M to sign a new contract around 2021, and filed a complaint with the Compensation and Punishment Committee of the Federation of Entrepreneurs' Association, claiming that it was a "violation of the management contract."

(For context, tampering refers to various forms of sabotage. In sports, it is when a player speaks to another team's representative, with an attempt of transfer.)

The CEMA DMEC has requested Chuu to appear for a meeting, but the idol wasn't able to confirm her appearance. Then, as they attempted to make an arbitrary ruling, Chuu belatedly responded, saying she would attend the meeting.

Along with this, Blockberry plans to submit a petition to the Federation of Entrepreneurs' Association on the same day to ban entertainment activities for four people, including Heejin, Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry.

In 2022, Blockberry Creative made headlines after kicking Chuu out from LOONA. Weeks later, nine out of the eleven members of LOONA filed lawsuits to suspend their exclusive contracts with the agency. In the end, only Heejin, Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry were the only ones able to win their cases.
