Former fromis_9 Jang Gyuri Takes Over Krystal's Best Driver Role in "The Player 2"

On January 27th, Korean media outlets reported that former fromis_9 member Jang Gyuri was cast as the female lead in the OCN drama 'Player 2.' She is expected to make her acting transformation by playing the role of Jay, the best driver of the group.

The OCN drama "Player," which aired in 2018, is a money-heist action drama wherein top players in various fields, such as fraudsters, drivers, hackers, and fighters, gather together to find and collect properties hidden by criminals. When it was still airing, the drama received great love with a 5.8% viewer rating.

In Season 1, Jung Sojung (Krystal) played the role of the best driver, Cha Ar-Yeong. In Season 2, Jang Gyuri will take over her baton and work with the group of players led by Song Seung-Heon.

Jang Gyuri, who made her debut in the entertainment industry as a member of the girl group fromis_9, signed an exclusive contract with Just Entertainment in August last year and began her full-fledged career as an actress. Since then, she has solidified her presence as an actress by playing the role of Tae Chohee in SBS' Cheers Up.

Meanwhile, "Player 2" is scheduled to start filming in March.
