From the moment it was revealed that aespa's Karina dyed her hair blonde for the first time since debut, fans voiced out mixed opinions. Some cheered for her new look, while others wished to see her back with her long, black hair.
Karina continued to sport her blonde hair for aespa's "MY WORLD" album promotions, until recently, she took fans by surprise when she was seen with black hair again.
It turns out, Karina had a reason for suddenly going back to her iconic black hair again.
During a fansign event, the idol revealed that she dyed her back to black in preparation for her trip to Cannes, wherein she and fellow aespa members will be attending the prestigious 76th Cannes Film Festival. They will be representing the Swiss luxury brand Chopard as its global brand ambassadors. And since Chopard is a jewelry brand, Karina wanted to showcase the jewelries and accessories well.

Meanwhile, on May 22nd, Karina and fellow aespa members were spotted at the airport heading to France.
