Introduction

Yoo Jimin, known under her stage name Karina, is a South Korean dancer, rapper, and singer-songwriter under SM Entertainment. She is best known as the oldest member, leader, main dancer, center, one of the visuals, and face of the girl group aespa.

Before debuting Karina was active on social media and was recruited by SM Entertainment where she became a trainee in 2016. Karina completed her high school education at Hansol High School before receiving her GED.

On February 19, 2019, she appeared on Taemin's MV for "Want". Additionally, she was also a backup dancer during the time of the song's promotional stage.

Later on, she debuted as the leader of aespa on November 17, 2020, with the digital single "Black Mamba".

She then debuted as a member in the unit GOT the beat from the project girl group Girls On Top on January 3, 2022, alongside her fellow aespa member Winter.

She also featured on "2022 Winter SMTOWN:SMCU Palace" which is SM Entertainment's ninth winter album. She featured on the song 'Hot & Cold' along with EXO's Kai, RED VELVET's Seulgi, and NCT's Jeno.

In 2023, she was selected as one of the OST singers for the Netflix drama 'Song of the Bandits'. The song was entitled 'Sad Waltz'.
