FIFTY FIFTY To Participate in the OST for the Movie "Barbie"
The movie "Barbie" announced a lineup of artists participating in the OST on its official social networking service (SNS) on the 25th (local time).
The released image showed actress Margot Robbie, who plays the main character Barbie, watching "Barbie News." Through "Barbie News," FIFTY FIFTY joined worldwide known singers like Dua Lipa, Lizzo, Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice, GALE, Charlie XCX, and more.
FIFTY FIFTY is gaining huge popularity across North America, charting on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart for nine consecutive weeks with "Cupid." On the 19th, they surpassed 34.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming site, setting the highest K-pop girl group record. On the "Daily Top Songs Global" chart, it remained in the top 10 for more than a month, breaking the longest record for K-pop girl groups.
Attention is focusing on whether FIFTY FIFTY, which announced its full-fledged entry into the U.S., will be able to take a successful first step with the OST of "Barbie."
"Barbie" is a live-action movie of Barbie, which tells the story of Barbie (Margot Robbie), who lived in Barbie Land, who could be anything she wanted, finding a crack in the portal connected to the real world and going on an unexpected journey with Ken (Ryan Gosling) to solve it.
According to Warner Music, the OST album for "Barbie" will be released on July 21. Mark Ronson, a world-renowned DJ and seven-time Oscar, Golden Globe and Grammy Award-winning artist and producer, participated in the production, and Greta Gerwig, author, director and executive producer of the film "Barbie," was in charge of the production.
Prior to the album's release, Dua Lipa's "Dance The Night" will be pre-released on the 26th.
